Red, White and Blue!

July 4, 2009: Meg made these festive little treats to celebrate The 4th of July.  The are chocolate and cake yumminess!

You could alter these easily for Christmas or Valentine's day by just changing the M&M!

Roofs of Green!

July 15, 2009: We took a stroll around the The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY and noticed this “Green” roof.  As you can see there are living plants growing atop the building’s roof.  Upon further investigation I learned that: A green roof stays cooler during the summer than a traditional roof, and reduces a building’s energy consumption. A thirsty roof also soaks up rain to reduce the amount of water running into storm sewers.

Just so you know I will someday convice my family that living in some sort of hobbit house with a “green” roof would be ideal.

Mondrian Cake!

Crafted by pastry chef Caitlin Freeman, who studied photography as an undergrad and uses her love of art and baking to create themed sweets at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s rooftop cafe.

We're Back!

I know we are exercising some schizophrenic maneuvers, but in the next few days we will begin the process of moving back to blogger. I believe I'm going to re-blog everything that was over on Tumblr maybe with some added antidotes and start anew here at our home designstat.blogspot.com! Sorry, for any irritations this may cause! Hang in there with us!
